广州市新塘镇新图印染厂是一家棉布印染、整理企业，染色所用的染料主要是硫化染料，上染率不高，废水中残留染料多，颜色深；使用abs作为表面活性剂，对微生物有抑制作用；所用浆料为pva,生化性差。废水水质如表1。

工程采用水解酸化、接触氧化的工艺，目的是通过废水的水解酸化反应，把难降解的高分子物质转化为较小的分子，从而改善废水的可生化性，为接触氧化创造条件。

沉砂池设计停留时间为15 min。在沉砂池中部设置格栅，主要是去除一些大的杂物。在池的前段开始加酸，通过搅拌机搅动使酸碱充分反应。沉砂池内不设曝气管，格栅人工清渣。
