abstract：geopolymer is a new inorganic polymer material, it has higher performances compared with the cement d materials, such as higher intensity, better durability and free from pollution. it has wide application prospect in industry, civil, military affairs, high-tech fields and so on. in this passage, properties, development and application prospect are reviewed，and their primary virtues and deficiencies are also analyzed and discussed .on the other hand ,some problems worthy of further study and probably developing trends in the field are presented.
